Purpose of the Job

To provide hands‑on exposure to core accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities, while supporting the Finance team in daily accounting tasks. This internship is designed to develop the intern’s practical understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and workplace professionalism. The role also aims to build a strong foundation for a future career in accounting or finance by enhancing technical skills, accuracy, and business awareness.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper approvals and coding
  • Reconcile supplier statements and handle invoice discrepancies
  • Maintain AP aging schedules and filing records

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Issue customer invoices and debit/credit notes
  • Record customer receipts and perform AR reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate AR aging reports

General Ledger (GL)

  • Assist in posting journal entries
  • Maintain proper accounting documentation and schedules

General & Support Duties

  • Support preparation of management reports and financial schedules
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
  • Perform ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
  • Proficient in MS Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables preferred)
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and able to meet deadlines
