General Manager, DACH
JEBSEN ROBOTICS
As part of its continued focus on future growth areas, Jebsen Group is developing a new business initiative in robotics. Under the working name Jebsen Robotics, the initiative is intended to explore opportunities in robotics and automation by connecting capabilities in Greater China with selected overseas markets, starting with Europe.
Purpose of the Job
Jebsen Group is launching Jebsen Robotics as the youngest and most exciting business line, aiming to become the largest and most comprehensive robotics integrated solutions provider. Supported by the financial backing and global connections of our prominent Hong Kong-based conglomerate with European roots and deep local connections in Greater China, this is not a traditional management role; it is a mandate to build a bridge between cutting-edge Chinese industrial innovation and international markets.
We are seeking a visionary leader to build a full-scale solutions ecosystem encompassing distribution, technical integration, life-cycle aftersales, and innovative financial models like Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) in the DACH region.
Initial anchor of the business is expected to be the service robotics sector (commercial delivery, commercial cleaning, etc.), partnering with one of the leading and most successful Chinese robotics companies in the space. The long-term expectation is to expand into other sectors (e.g. humanoid) and product types as technology and market further develop.
You will lead the market entry strategy, engage and secure relationships with leading Chinese robotic companies, build a high-performing team, and establish our footprint across the DACH region, before scaling across broader geographies.
Responsibilities
- "0-to-1" Launch
- Entity Formation: Lead the legal and physical setup of the European entity, including office locations, logistics hubs, administration, and compliance.
- Market Intelligence: Identify high-potential sectors for Chinese robotics (e.g., service, retail, logistics, or manufacturing).
- Principal Management: Identify, assess, and select Chinese robotic OEM partners; establish and manage overall brand relationships.
- GTM Strategy: Define the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy for the DACH region, securing initial pilot projects and building a robust distribution network (direct and sub-distributors).
- Service Infrastructure: Establish local after-sales service and technical support structures from the ground up.
- Diversified Business Model Development
- Distribution & Integration: Build a world-class sales engine and partner network to ensure aggressive sales targets are met.
- Aftersales & Lifecycle Management: Establish a gold-standard service infrastructure to ensure aftersales quality, and long-term client retention.
- Leasing & Rental: Design and deploy capital-efficient models (Rental/Leasing/RaaS) to lower the barrier to entry for clients.
- Integrated Solutions Provider: Build the company into an integrated solutions provider that provides complete automation outcomes, not just hardware distribution.
- Operational & Strategic Leadership
- P&L Ownership: Full operational and financial ownership for the business.
- Team Building: Recruit and lead a lean, high-impact team across sales, technical support, and operations.
- Cultural Bridge: Navigate the speed of the Chinese manufacturing ecosystem while meeting the rigorous quality and service standards of the European market.
- Scaling: Leverage existing connections, resources, and partnerships of the parent conglomerate and other stakeholders to accelerate market entry and develop a roadmap for expansion from DACH into broader European markets.
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity and the challenges of building a business from the ground up. Proven track record of launching new business units or startups, ability and willingness to operate hands-on in an entrepreneurial environment, with the executive presence to lead a major conglomerate division thereafter.
- Management Capability: Proven experience managing diverse revenue streams (not just direct sales), specifically rental, leasing, or service-heavy business models within robotics, tech-enabled services, or B2B hardware sectors.
- Regional Expertise: Deep familiarity with the DACH business landscape, and a deep, active network within the DACH region for both Mittelstand and blue chip companies.
- Language Skills: Native / bilingual German and English are required. Mandarin a significant advantage.
- Cross-cultural Experience: Experience working with Asian (ideally Chinese) tech manufacturers and understanding the culture, pace and logic of the Chinese tech ecosystem a strong plus.
