Purpose of the Job

Jebsen Capital is looking for a new team member for our Private Capital team in Berlin, who will play an essential role in the due diligence and execution of new investments, as well as in our portfolio management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent and well-structured company, industry, and market research & analysis for our direct and fund opportunities
  • Actively participate in due diligence of direct investment opportunities
    • Conduct commercial due diligence on target companies and build and validate financial models
    • Be a lead contact on questions and exchanges with investment targets/advisors
    • Help with documentation related to new investments
  • Track investment performance against budgets and forecasts, and provide analytics/ commentaries; investigate on variations and drive/recommend changes to ensure business targets are met
  • Follow relevant industry developments in private markets, transactions, and regulation, and assist on other ad-hoc tasks (KYC due diligence, legal updates, portfolio company requests, etc.)
  • Network with industry participants and support in deal sourcing

Requirements

  • Degree graduate from top university, preferably in Finance or related disciplines
  • 1-3 years relevant experience, preferably in investment banking and/or consulting
  • Prior experience in private equity or corporate M&A is an advantage
  • Independent thinking and intrinsic motivation to drive investment and portfolio management activities; ability to form and substantiate convictions on relevant topics and deliver persuasive arguments
  • Strong interpersonal & teamwork capabilities
  • Diligent and thorough with presentation and calculation materials; strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills to deliver expected result on time
  • Experience in working in international environment, previous exposure in PRC is an advantage
  • Full professional fluency in English; German language skills a clear plus
  • Candidates with more experience will be considered as Senior Analyst
